Head Coach (2019 - present) 4 years; Asst. Varsity EK/Illinois (2006 - 2018) 12 years
Eric was a 2003 East Kentwood graduate. Eric was a 4 year varsity wrestler amassing a 160 wins in his career. Eric was 2-time all-state for the Falcons and helped the team to a conference title in 2003 along with district titles in 2001 and 2002 and a regional title in 2002. After high school Eric continued his wrestling career at North Central College. He was a conference champ in 2005 and retired from the sport due to injuries following that season. Eric began his coaching career at multiple schools in Illinois (Plainfield East/Neuqua Valley High School) helping guide 2 state champions along with multiple conference champs and state qualifiers. Eric currently teaches PE at East Kentwood High School and is on the HS football staff. In his spare time Eric likes to hang out at the lake and watch his 2 boys compete in football, wrestling and baseball.

Asst. Coach (2006 - present)
Ben was a 2004 East Kentwood graduate. Ben wrestled for the Falcons from 2001 - 2004 earning his varsity letter both his Junior and Senior year. He returned to the Falcons in 2006 as a mentor in the youth program and JV coach. In 2013 Ben took over as the Head Varsity coach until last season. This year he steps down to assist Coach Foster and focus on the development of the our women's program. He will be entering his 18th year. As a coach, Ben has been instrumental in developing a number of conference champs, state qualifiers, state placers and one state champ. Ben currently teaches science at Crestwood Middle School. Outside of wrestling Ben is an avid fisherman and family man.

Asst. Coach (2018 - present); Asst. Varsity/Youth Sparta/Northview/Cedar Springs (2002 - 2014, 2017) 14 years
Eric graduated from Cedar Springs in 2001 and was a four year wrestlers for the Red Hawks. Upon graduation Eric began his coaching career at Cedar Springs and officiating. After leaving Cedar Springs Eric continued his coaching career at both Northview and Sparta. Eric currently teaches industrial arts at EK. Eric is also involved in the football program as the JV defensive coordinator. Eric is married with one daughter and enjoys refereeing wrestling, hunting, and fishing.

Charlie Hang - Head Youth Coach/HS Asst.
Charlie is a 2014 East Kentwood graduate. He was a 4 year varsity wrestler with 103 career wins. Charlie helped the team to a district title in 2011. Charlie continued his wrestling career at GVSU, where he competed for the Lakers from 2014-2016. Charlie is currently a Behavior Specialist at Valleywood Middle School. Charlie will be taking over as the head youth coach after assisting with the High school team the last 2 years. Charlie will bring a vibrant new energy and outlook to the program and is excited to see our young falcons fly. Charlie enjoys outdoor activities when not working with the wrestling program. Jacob Lewis - Asst. Youth/MS Asst. Coach Jacob is a 2018 East Kentwood Graduate. He is gifted with positive energy that excites our newest and youngest wrestlers. |
